About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks two UV frequency doublers with delivery to Boulder, Colorado within 18 weeks after receipt of order, with quotations due August 13, 2026. This is an unrestricted, Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procurement under the commercial items simplified process.
Place of performance is Boulder, Colorado (325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305). NAICS code 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, applies with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
The doubling systems must operate at 535.6 nm ±0.1 nm input wavelength with input power of 200–500 mW, generating output at 267.8 nm with minimum output power of 15 mW at 200 mW input. Input linewidth must be less than 100 kHz; cavity lock bandwidth must exceed 20 kHz. Each system requires a free-space collimated beam input (~1 mm Gaussian beam waist), hermetically sealed doubling cavity with purging capability, temperature control for the non-linear optical crystal, and external cavity/crystal alignment without breaking the seal. Long-term stability greater than 6 months without realignment is required on a best-effort basis. The procurement includes one digital servo for controlling both cavities with automatic relock and standby mode reducing UV output by at least a factor of 10, plus two spare doubling crystals. NIST supplies a 534 nm input laser. Vendor technician on-site delivery, installation, equipment setup, and user training in alignment, optimization, and operation are required. Government acceptance testing will require 14 business days.
Quotations must be firm-fixed-price, FOB Destination with all shipping included, remain valid 160 days, and reference SAM Unique Entity ID with active SAM.gov registration. Payment terms are Net 30. The contracting officer is Lisa Stevens (lisa.stevens@nist.gov).
