About this opportunity
The United States Penitentiary in Marion, Illinois plans to award a contract for a Dog Obedience Instructor for its Advanced Occupational Training Program from the date of award through August 31, 2024. The instructor will provide services such as course planning, lesson preparation, and classroom instruction in dog obedience, street certification skills, grooming, and other specialized areas for animal trainer certification for 15 students per class. The institution will provide classroom space, utilities, equipment, cleaning supplies, tools, pencils, paper, and all related materials, while St. Francis Care shelter will supply crates, leashes, food, medicine, medical attention, and vet care.
List of services and products to be provided by the contractor:
- Dog Obedience Instructor services
- Course planning and lesson preparation
- Classroom instruction in dog obedience
- Classroom instruction in street certification skills
- Classroom instruction in grooming and other specialized areas for animal trainer certification
- Replacement coverage in the event of the instructor's absence
- Communication with the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR)
- Joint work with the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) staff in the recruitment and screening of students for the program
- Provision of a copy of all diplomas and/or certificates to support stated qualifications
- Management of any infractions of institution regulations on the part of an inmate.
