About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Military Sealift Command is seeking a contractor to prepare for and accomplish the mid-term availability with dry-docking requirement for the USNS MERCY (T-AH 19). The primary objective is to conduct maintenance and repair work on the naval ship at a contractor's facility located on the U.S. East, Gulf, or West Coast. The anticipated period of performance spans from August 15, 2025 to December 14, 2025, with the full solicitation expected to be released on January 15, 2025 through the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment Solicitation Module. The contract opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, with the agency expecting to receive proposals from at least two small businesses in the ship building and repairing sector (NAICS 336611). Contractors will be evaluated based on their ability to meet the specific technical requirements for mid-term ship availability and dry-docking procedures. The solicitation falls under the Non-Nuclear Ship Repair (East) product service code J998, indicating the specialized nature of the maintenance work required. While no specific award value is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contract represents a significant opportunity for small businesses with expertise in naval vessel maintenance and repair.
