About this opportunity

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Surface Force Logistic Center has issued a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the WMEC 270' Service Life Extension Project (SLEP) 2.0, focused on conducting comprehensive drydock repairs for its Medium Endurance Cutter fleet. This special notice is specifically designed to gather industry insights and feedback about potential service life extension work for these maritime vessels. The RFI is purely informational and does not represent a commitment to contract, with the USCG seeking to improve industry relations and operational efficiencies. The notice is targeted at potential prime contractors within the Ship Building and Repairing NAICS category (336611). Interested parties are invited to provide detailed information about their capabilities and perspectives on the proposed project.

The primary objective of this RFI is to solicit comprehensive feedback from potential contractors regarding the technical, logistical, and operational aspects of the WMEC 270' cutter service life extension project. Contractors are requested to submit a two-page capabilities statement and respond to nine specific questions covering project duration, cost estimates, consecutive availability capabilities, resource planning, potential efficiency gains, and anticipated risk factors. The response deadline is June 9, 2025, at 1700 ET, with submissions to be sent via email to designated USCG contacts. The USCG will also host ship checks in Portsmouth, VA on May 22, 2025, to help interested parties develop more informed responses. While SAM registration is not mandatory for the RFI, contractors would need an active, non-excluded SAM registration to be considered for any future solicitation. Eligibility is open to various business types, including small businesses, disadvantaged businesses, veteran-owned businesses, and large businesses.
