About this opportunity

The 10th Contracting Squadron at the United States Air Force Academy is conducting market research to identify sources capable of supplying two liquid nitrogen plants or generators with a capability statement due by 9:00 AM Mountain Daylight Time on July 19, 2026. This is a sources sought notice and request for information only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a solicitation.

Each system must produce at least 60 liters of liquid nitrogen per day and maintain integrated Dewar storage capacity of at least 210 liters. Equipment must operate reliably at 7,500 feet altitude and fit within a footprint not exceeding 6.5 feet by 6 feet. Gas separation must yield a minimum of 98% pure nitrogen using an integrated, easily maintainable filter bank assembly. Systems must include an automatic liquid nitrogen level indicator, automatic standby mode when the product dewar reaches full capacity, cryogenically insulated extraction line and valve, floor stand mounting, comprehensive service kit with tools and spare parts, installation and maintenance manual, brand new condition only (no refurbished equipment), comprehensive warranty on all parts and workmanship, on-site training and installation, and in-state Colorado application support. Routine maintenance must be performable on-site by local operators.

Equipment will support the USAFA Chemistry Department and dependent departments including Physics, Aeronautics, and Chemistry Research. NAICS 325120 (Industrial Gas Manufacturing) applies with a small business size standard of 1,200 employees. PSC 3655 (Gas Generating and Dispensing Systems, Fixed or Mobile) governs classification.

Interested vendors should submit capability statements to Contracting Officer Nathalieb Zepeda at Nathalieb.Zepeda@us.af.mil, including company profile, business size and socioeconomic status, technical capability description with product specifications, estimated delivery time, and existing government contract vehicles.
