About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Hill Air Force Base is conducting a Sources Sought market research initiative for potential suppliers of egress components for the USAF Air Launch Cruise Missile (ALCM) program. The government is seeking sources capable of engineering, manufacturing, inspecting, and testing 17 specific components including thermal batteries, cartridges for impulse functions, ETRS rings, tank assemblies, engine starter cartridges, ETRS initiators, and EBW devices. Key qualifications include demonstrated relevant experience with dual mechanically fired initiators within the past five years and access to all appropriate manufacturing data, as the government has limited technical data available and will not provide funding for second source qualification efforts. The government is particularly interested in identifying small business sources, including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns to determine if the effort can be set aside for small businesses and to establish the best acquisition strategy. Responses must be submitted by 5:00 PM MST on March 21, 2026, and should include company profile information, relevant experience documentation, and identification of which NSN items the respondent is capable of pursuing.

This pre-solicitation notice contains no set-aside designation at this time, though the government's market research objectives may result in future set-asides for small business concerns. No award values, budget ranges, or contract timeline information is disclosed in this sources sought synopsis. Responses to this market research initiative are not proposals and will not result in contract awards; rather, the government will use the information gathered to inform acquisition strategy and determine competitive capabilities within the industrial base. Interested parties should note that no reimbursement will be provided for responses, and any teaming arrangements must clearly delineate work responsibilities between prime and subcontractors. Additional information can be obtained from Contracting Officer Captain Leila Rahebi or Lead Program Manager Captain Maygan Gipson through the contact information provided in the synopsis.
