About this opportunity
The Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Correctional Facilities has published a Special Notice announcing an Industry Day event hosted by UNICOR, the trade name of Federal Prison Industries (FPI). The event is scheduled for May 6, 2026, at FCC Coleman in Coleman, Florida, and is designed to bring together industry partners with capabilities in sales and marketing of office furniture. UNICOR is a self-sustaining, wholly-owned government corporation established in 1934 that manufactures office furniture and provides services to federal civilian agencies and the Department of Defense while simultaneously providing job training and skills development to federal inmates. This no-cost Industry Day is open to all qualified industry partners and is intended as a market research and planning forum rather than a formal solicitation or procurement opportunity. The event is not a request for proposal, quotation, or solicitation, and the government will not be obligated to issue contracts or reimburse attendance costs.
The primary objective of this Industry Day is to facilitate dialogue between UNICOR's Office Furniture Group and industry partners regarding the manufacturing, sales, and marketing of office furniture products and services. All prospective participants must complete and submit both a registration form and a National Criminal History Information Center (NCIC) background clearance form to peyton.perry@usdoj.gov by 3:30 p.m. EST on April 20, 2026, with the subject line "UNICOR Industry Day, Sales and Marketing." Eligibility is open to any organization with capabilities in office furniture sales and marketing, with up to three attendees permitted per company. The event schedule includes a factory tour, FPI presentations, lunch, and one-on-one industry sessions from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST, with each company limited to one 30-minute session to present current and future capabilities. Attendees must be pre-approved, listed on the registration form, and aware that laptops, mobile phones, recording devices, and electronic communication tools are prohibited at the secure facility.
