About this opportunity

UNICOR, the trade name of Federal Prison Industries (FPI), a self-sustaining government corporation established in 1934, is hosting an Industry Day event to engage suppliers and industry partners. The Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons is publishing this Special Notice to conduct market research and identify potential vendors for office furniture manufacturing operations. The event will take place on May 6, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST at FCC Coleman in Coleman, Florida. This is a no-cost, in-person event open to all industry partners interested in supplying office furniture designs, schematics, and raw materials to support UNICOR's manufacturing and assembly teams. The Office Furniture Group (OFG) manufactures and provides high-quality, cost-effective office furniture and services primarily to federal civilian agencies and the Department of Defense while providing job training and skills development to federal inmates.

The primary objective of this Industry Day is to gather information about industry partners' capabilities to supply office furniture components and materials to support UNICOR's operations. Prospective attendees must submit both a completed registration form and a Criminal History Check Authorization Form (NCIC background check form) to peyton.perry@usdoj.gov with the subject line "UNICOR Industry Day, Sales and Marketing" no later than 3:30 p.m. EST on April 20, 2026. There are no specific eligibility restrictions stated; however, all participants must complete mandatory background clearance to gain facility access. The event schedule includes a morning factory tour and FPI presentations from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch and afternoon one-on-one sessions from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with each company permitted one 30-minute session (15 minutes presentation, 15 minutes Q&A) scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Digital presentations must be submitted in PDF or PowerPoint format prior to the event and will be displayed by FPI staff on government computers only.
