About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 1 is seeking domestically manufactured ultrasound and linear probe systems for vascular access procedures, with capability statements due by September 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET.

The VA intends to procure an ultrasound system with 15.6-inch touchscreen, battery operation, linear probe for vascular imaging, vessel assessment tools, tip confirmation via ECG technology, needle tracking capability, and workflow/data management with patient data lookup and auto-fill functions. The linear probe must interface with the ultrasound system to provide needle tracking, tip confirmation, and automatic vessel detection and measurement. Both items require FDA 510(k) clearance and must have been commercially available since November 2023. The system will support peripherally inserted central catheters, central venous catheters, intravenous lines, and other vascular access device placement to improve clinician efficiency, reduce insertion attempts, and enhance patient safety through real-time vessel visualization.

Performance occurs at the VA Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island, with a 90-calendar-day delivery window after contract award. NAICS code 334510 (Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing) applies, with a 1,250-employee size standard. PSC 6515 governs the procurement.

Interested vendors must submit a 2–3 page written Capability Statement (no pricing) including country of origin, warranty information, delivery lead time, legal company name and contact, SAM.gov UEI number, and CVE certification status for SDVOSB or VOSB firms. Respondents must be registered in SAM.gov at time of award. Questions are due by September 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET. Submit capability statements to Pearl Wray at pearl.wray@va.gov.
