About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command seeks procurement of nine Trimble R980 GPS-enabled GNSS/IBSS survey equipment sets for the 3rd Infantry Division Engineers, with proposals due September 25, 2026. The procurement is a sole-source brand-name acquisition of Trimble Inc. equipment justified under FAR Part 12 commercial item procedures; the government determined that competitor systems (Leica GS18 T and Topcon HiPer VR) are technically incompatible with the division's existing Trimble Business Center Enterprise Edition software infrastructure and CMRx/Trimble RTX base station correction network.
Place of performance is Fort Stewart, Georgia, with delivery required by October 14, 2026, under FOB Destination terms. The equipment specification includes nine Trimble R980 Model 50 GNSS GPS Survey Base Kits, 18 GPS Survey Rover Kits, and 36 Trimble R10/R12/R980 rechargeable batteries, all brand-name with no substitutions. Technical acceptability requires new, unused, factory-sealed equipment with current firmware, activated licenses, full assembly, field-ready configuration, and a five-year warranty covering all required components.
Estimated contract value is $898,650.00, awarded on a firm fixed-price basis. This is a Women-Owned Small Business set-aside with a HUBZone small business evaluation preference factor of 10 percent. The NAICS code is 334519 (Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing); PSC code is 6675 (Drafting, Surveying, and Mapping Instruments). Award will be made using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable evaluation method to the responsible quoter submitting the lowest-priced, technically acceptable quotation. Contracting Officer approval was granted September 11, 2026, following market research that included a GSA eBuy RFI and a SAM.gov Sources Sought notice.
