About this opportunity

The U.S. Coast Guard seeks round-trip transportation of a recompression chamber and equipment from Seattle, Washington to Juneau, Alaska, with proposals due June 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. This is a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside with unrestricted competition, solicited as a commercial item under a firm fixed-price purchase contract.

Place of performance is Juneau, Alaska. The contractor must transport one Ford F-450 truck with a loaded 40-foot flatbed trailer (34,500 pounds total) carrying a Transportable Recompression Chamber System and support equipment. Pickup in Seattle is August 5, 2026, with mandatory delivery to Juneau by August 13, 2026. Return pickup from Juneau is August 22–24, 2026, with final delivery to Seattle by September 4, 2026. On-time delivery is mandatory as the shipment supports Coast Guard Maritime Security Response Team diving operations and emergency hyperbaric treatment capability during Buoy Tender Roundup 2026.

The contractor arranges and pays for marine freight (barge or ferry) from Seattle to Juneau, including loading and offloading. USCG personnel deliver the vehicle to the Seattle terminal and pick it up from the Juneau terminal; the contractor manages all drayage and marine logistics. The shipment contains hazardous materials: compressed oxygen (UN1072), compressed air (UN1002), compressed nitrous oxide (UN1956), and lithium metal batteries (UN3091), and must comply with SOLAS, MARPOL, and DOT regulations.

Pricing is a single round-trip quote. Service Contract Act prevailing wages apply per Department of Labor Wage Determinations 2015-5535 (Washington) and 2015-5685 (Alaska). The NAICS code is 484230, Specialized Freight Trucking, Long-Distance. Questions were due June 25, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Amendment P00001, issued June 25, posted responses to 29 contractor questions and hazardous materials documentation. Submit offers to Contracting Officer Terry Craft at terry.e.craft@uscg.mil.
