About this opportunity
The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), which is managed and operated by the University of California for the Department of Energy, is seeking proposals for the fabrication of two large, high-precision aluminum shells to be used in the Test Facility Dipole (TFD) project. The solicitation requires the aluminum shells to be fabricated from a single forged aluminum casting in the shape of a cylinder, meeting strict tolerances and quality standards. Offerors must demonstrate their manufacturing capabilities, metrology equipment, delivery timelines, past performance, and quality assurance program. LBNL will select the responsive, responsible offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable and has the lowest evaluated price. Proposals are due by May 1, 2024, and LBNL intends to make award(s) without discussions if possible.
This solicitation is not set aside for any specific business size or socioeconomic category. The NAICS code is 332999, and the applicable small business size standard is 750 or fewer employees. No incumbent contractors are named, and the total value of the contract is not specified. The two aluminum shells must be fabricated and delivered to LBNL in support of the TFD project.
