About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed contract to WebMD Health Corporation for the recertification and reaccreditation of a 2023 continuing education course titled "Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Diagnosis and Management in the Age of COVID-19: Expert Insights." The CDC seeks to procure this technical services course to enhance healthcare providers' knowledge and improve patient care for individuals with ME/CFS. The agency justifies the sole source approach under FAR 8.405-6 "Limiting Sources" and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a), citing that the course is copyrighted by Medscape and WebMD Health Corporation, preventing other vendors from providing recertification services. While this is not a request for competitive quotations, the government will consider all quotations and responses received to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement instead. Interested parties must submit their responses via email to the Contract Specialist at zwh7@cdc.gov by 12:00 PM Eastern Time on August 25, 2025.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and specifically targets WebMD Health Corporation as the intended sole source contractor due to their copyright ownership of the course material. The anticipated period of performance spans one full year from September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026. The contract falls under NAICS code 611430 for Professional and Management Development Training and PSC code R420 for Support-Professional Certifications and Accreditations. The procurement focuses on a single course recertification rather than multiple training modules or programs. No specific contract value or budget range has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice.
