About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center Wright Patterson Air Force Base has issued a Special Notice for a proposed contract action involving AGI Software Licenses. This notice, posted on February 26, 2025, with a response deadline of March 6, 2025, is not a formal solicitation but a preliminary announcement of procurement intentions. The notice falls under the Software Publishers NAICS category (513210) and specifically relates to IT and Telecom Business Application Software. The Air Force intends to negotiate exclusively with Ansys Government Initiatives (AGI) for this procurement, utilizing the provisions of FAR 5.201(b)(1) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The contract will be structured as a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) agreement.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to communicate the Air Force's intent to award a single-source contract for software licenses directly to AGI. Contractors should note that this is not a formal solicitation and does not constitute a commitment or request for proposals. The procurement is being conducted under specific federal acquisition regulations that allow for direct negotiation with a single source. Eligibility for this opportunity is effectively limited to AGI, as the notice indicates the government's intention to negotiate exclusively with this vendor. The contract will focus on procuring software licenses, specifically within the business application software domain. Potential contractors should carefully review the notice's details and understand that this is a preliminary step in the procurement process. While no open competitive bidding is anticipated, interested parties may seek additional clarification through standard government procurement channels.
