About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Space Command is seeking a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to complete an interior build-out of a weapons maintenance storage addition project at facility B9678. The project encompasses comprehensive interior and exterior construction work, including installing interior finishes, adjusting fire sprinkler and alarm systems, completing HVAC and electrical modifications, and performing exterior infrastructure improvements like transformer pad regrading and chain link fencing installation. The pre-solicitation notice indicates this is a preliminary announcement, with the official invitation for bids to be published immediately after the notice's expiration on May 27, 2025. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed, the project appears to require specialized construction expertise in military facility renovation. The Statement of Work suggests a comprehensive approach to facility enhancement, focusing on functional and structural improvements.
The contract is specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns, with a construction magnitude between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 according to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204. The period of performance is specified as 180 calendar days, indicating a relatively tight timeline for completion. Importantly, the government notes that funds are not currently available, and the contract's execution is contingent upon future appropriations, which introduces potential financial uncertainty. The project falls under NAICS Category 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction and PSC Category Y1JZ for Miscellaneous Building Construction. Potential bidders should be prepared for a complex project involving precise architectural modifications, systems integration, and adherence to military facility standards.
