About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command, under the Department of the Navy, is soliciting services and supplies for a Surface Ship Corrosion Mitigation Program targeting 12 naval vessels (8 Combatant ships and 4 Amphibious ships) homeported at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia. The contractor must conduct 12 corrosion assessment events and training sessions over a 12-month period, provide crew familiarization and instruction on corrosion inhibiting products meeting MIL-PRF-16173 or MIL-PRF-81409 specifications, and supply a six-month inventory of corrosion prevention materials including fluids, tapes, wraps, paste, wipes, and starter kits for use by Ship's Force. Evaluation will be conducted using a Tradeoff Source Selection process with factors including Product Compliance (Acceptable/Unacceptable), Technical Approach (Outstanding to Unacceptable), Past Performance (Confidence Assessment), and Price, with non-price factors weighted significantly more heavily than price. Commander, Naval Surface Force, Atlantic seeks services and supplies for a Surface Ship Corrosion Mitigation Program. CNSL N43 will identify specific ships and maintenance periods for each assessment event, targeting a Window of Opportunity (WOO). There will be twelve (12) assessment events and training sessions to Ship’s Force on (8) Combatant ships and four (4) Amphibious ships, with the goal of one assessment event per ship per month on a yearly basis. In conjunction with the Ship’s Force training on use and application of corrosion control inhibiting product, a six-month supply of corrosion inhibition material for remediation of corrosion will be provided for designated CNSL ships to be utilized by Ship’s Force on an as needed basis.
