About this opportunity
The Special Notice is issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center (NSSC) for support in evaluating scattering effects in coronagraphy. NASA/NSSC intends to award a sole source contract to Tellus1 Scientific under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), as they have determined Tellus1 Scientific is the sole provider of the required services.
The purpose of this effort is to provide scientific and engineering analysis of phenomena associated with coherent and incoherent backgrounds, and their impact on speckle instability in the dark zones created by coronagraphs. Key tasks include designing the modeling approach, supporting coronagraph narrow angle scatter model execution, creating a conference talk and report, investigating post-processing improvement algorithms, and incorporating post-processing improvements into the error budget. The period of performance is 6 months from the date of award. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing by 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on June 13, 2024, for the Government's consideration in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541715, and the performance location will be at NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center.
