About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking to procure a trailer-mounted 10,000 GPM Standby Submersible Fire Pump for rental at Norfolk Naval Station. While US Fire Pump Company, L.L.C. is initially identified as a potential sole source vendor, the solicitation allows all responsible sources to submit capability statements and quotations for consideration. The primary contract requirements include a diesel-powered centrifugal pump with minimum 10,000 GPM capacity at 100 ft vertical lift, an onboard 8-hour fuel tank, full enclosure with roll-up doors, and a mounted deployment/retrieval crane system. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and submit their quotes by March 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The evaluation will likely consider technical capabilities, compliance with specifications, and vendor qualifications, with the Contracting Officer reserving the right to conduct verbal or written discussions with potential vendors.
The solicitation does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, making it open to all qualifying vendors. The contract is classified under NAICS category 532490 (Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing) with a size standard of $40 million. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price arrangement with an initial base period of 364 days, followed by three possible option years and an additional six-month extension. The place of performance is Building CEP-198 at Norfolk Station in Norfolk, VA 23511. While specific award value is not disclosed, the comprehensive technical requirements and extended performance timeline suggest a potentially significant procurement. The pump must be no more than 10 years old and tested within two weeks of delivery, with specific technical requirements including NFPA-approved connections and particular Storz connection specifications.
