About this opportunity
The Volpe Center, which provides support to the U.S. Air Force, seeks to procure skilled professional services to convert 73 Air Force Air Traffic Control Towers operating Standard Terminal Automation Replacement Systems (STARS) from analog to digital video display signaling. The contractor will be required to provide and install fiber optic cables, coordinate with the Volpe Center and site points of contact, and provide daily status reports. The work must be completed within an aggressive two-year schedule, with two professionals required per site, some of which will have one government employee and one contractor. The solicitation is anticipated to be a single firm-fixed-price award, with the possibility of other CLIN types as needed.
There is no set-aside designation for this procurement. The government is interested in responses from large and small businesses, including set-aside categories. The work is expected to be performed at 62 CONUS and 11 OCONUS locations. The award value or budget range was not disclosed, but the challenge will be to meet the aggressive two-year schedule for this digital video conversion project.
