About this opportunity

The Air Force Academy Department of Chemistry intends to solicit a replacement spectrofluorometer (fluorimeter) system with responses to the sources sought due June 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM MDT. No set-aside is anticipated.

Place of performance is USAF Academy, Colorado 80840, with FOB destination delivery. The requirement supports upper-division course instruction for 60 to 80 cadets annually, replacing a 20-plus-year-old system whose excitation source is failing and whose replacement parts are no longer available.

The Government requires a commercial spectrofluorometer with a Xenon flash lamp-based excitation source featuring high-frequency flash rate and room-light immunity; horizontal optical beam geometry for collection efficiency; high-sensitivity photomultiplier tube capable of enhanced sensitivity above 700 nm and picomolar fluorescein measurement; signal-to-noise ratio guarantee exceeding 500:1 for Raman Band of Water; automatic measurement of four or more cells; solid sample holder accessory kit for edge mounting; water-thermostatted single-cell holder with compatible 110V water pump; integrated Peltier thermostatting system with 0.3°C accuracy; microsecond data collection intervals; temperature-variable fluorescence scanning; and microplate reading for high-throughput analysis. The system must support multiple data collection modes (fluorescence, phosphorescence, chemi-luminescence, bio-luminescence) and include desktop PC with compatible control software, on-site installation, and training.

The contract type is firm-fixed price. NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, 1,000-employee size standard) applies; PSC 6630. Vendors holding GSA MAS or GWAC contracts should identify them. Responses limited to 5 pages should be submitted via email to ronald.wilson.26@us.af.mil and mikayla.brandt@us.af.mil. Future acquisition information will be posted on SAM.gov.
