About this opportunity
The Department of the Army has issued a Special Notice regarding an Autonomous Mobility Solution for Robotic Ground Vehicles through the Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA). This notice is specifically related to the Detroit Arsenal Innovation (DAI) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) and involves the Project Manager Future Battle Platforms (PM FBP). The primary focus is on developing autonomous mobility capabilities for the Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV), with the ultimate goal of creating ground vehicles that can operate with minimal human intervention. The notice is being distributed through the National Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) and serves as an advanced notification of the government's future intent to release a Request for Prototype Proposals (RPP). Importantly, this special notice is informational and does not constitute a direct solicitation for a prototype project.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to assess industry capability and readiness to provide autonomous mobility solutions for Army robotic vehicles, with the RCV as the initial platform and potential expansion to future robotic vehicle applications. Interested contractors must engage with the NAMC, either by visiting www.NAMConsortium.org or emailing Questions@NAMConsortium.org to understand membership requirements and opportunity details. The anticipated Period of Performance is 12 months, with the Request for Information (RFI) currently open and responses due by April 14, 2025. The government intends to pursue a Follow-on Production effort under 10 USC 4022(f), indicating potential future contract opportunities for successful participants. While no specific set-aside is currently identified, contractors should carefully review the NAMC guidelines and prepare comprehensive demonstrations of their autonomous mobility technological capabilities. The notice suggests that this initiative is part of a broader effort to advance robotic vehicle technology for military applications.
