About this opportunity
NASA Kennedy Space Center awarded IDIQ contracts to four companies—All Points Logistics LLC, Blue Origin LLC, Firefly Aerospace Inc., and L3 Harris Technologies Inc.—for payload processing facilities under the Spacecraft Processing Operations Contract on-ramp on August 4, 2026, with a combined ceiling of $100 million.
The awards support spacecraft and launch vehicle processing and integration activities at facilities near Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral Space Force Station or Vandenberg Space Force Base. The acquisition addressed a critical need for nuclear mission processing capabilities for three upcoming missions: Dragonfly, Rosalind Franklin Mission, and Space Reactor-1 Freedom. NASA's Launch Services Program issued the RFP on May 11, 2026, as a commercial, competitive solicitation under FAR 12.203 and FAR Part 15.3, permitting award to multiple responsible offerors with acceptable technical ratings and fair and reasonable pricing. Five proposals were received; SpaceLaunch LLC was determined ineligible due to unacceptable technical capability ratings (missing critical Encapsulation Bay and Launch Vehicle fairing handling space) and unverifiable pricing based on subcontractor assumptions. L3 Harris and Blue Origin received initial awards; All Points Logistics and Firefly Aerospace were added on July 20, 2026. The multiple-award strategy enables faster awards and increases available processing capacity without direct competition between providers.
