About this opportunity

The Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) is conducting a market survey to identify qualified contractors capable of producing a Traversing Mechanism with National Stock Number 1015-01-387-0589, classified under the Small Arms, Ordnance, and Ordnance Accessories Manufacturing sector. This pre-solicitation notice represents a market research initiative to assess industry capabilities, interest levels, and capacity for manufacturing this military equipment component. Interested vendors must possess a current DD 2345 Military Critical Technical Data Agreement to access the Technical Data Package, which carries distribution code D and is limited to DoD and U.S. DoD contractors. The survey requires detailed responses regarding manufacturing capabilities, production lead times, quality management systems, and first article testing experience. Companies must submit their responses via email to Ryan Nawrocki at ryan.d.nawrocki.civ@army.mil by July 22, 2025, with no telephone responses accepted.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, specifically targeting small business enterprises within the ordnance manufacturing sector. The market survey seeks to identify firms capable of producing two units of the Traversing Extension Assembly, though this represents the survey quantity rather than a committed procurement volume. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation, suggesting this may be a new requirement or a rebid of existing work. The notice emphasizes that this market survey does not constitute a formal solicitation and carries no commitment from the government for contract award. The 15-day response window from July 7 to July 22, 2025, indicates the Army's intent to move quickly through the market research phase to inform their future acquisition strategy for this specialized military hardware component.
