About this opportunity
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors for renovating a nursing mothers' room at the FEMA Region VI Federal Regional Center in Denton, Texas. The project involves creating a comfortable, private, and ADA-compliant space for employees to express breast milk, with specific requirements including installation of a food-prep sink, painting, adding a refrigerator, implementing locking door hardware, and installing motion light sensors. Interested contractors must submit responses by 11:00 AM CST on May 12, 2025, to Contract Specialist Barbara Gonzalez and the Region 6 Procurement Branch. The market research seeks capability statements, past performance examples, cost estimates, and confirmation of SAM.gov registration under NAICS code 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. Evaluation criteria will likely include contractors' ability to meet specific renovation requirements, past performance, and compliance with federal facility renovation standards.
There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity. The project is located in an underground bunker-type facility built in the 1960s and requires work to be conducted during FEMA Denton Campus operational hours (7:30 AM-4:30 PM, Monday through Friday). The total performance period is 40 days from contract award, with a detailed schedule including 3 days for planning, 5 days for demolition, 30 days for installation, and 2 days for clean-up. Contractors must provide a one-year warranty on parts and labor and comply with specific security and training requirements, including background investigations and sensitive information handling protocols. While no specific award value is mentioned, the scope suggests a moderate-sized renovation project focused on creating a functional and private space for nursing mothers within a federal facility.
