About this opportunity
Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify vendors capable of providing Motorola GTR 8000 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system hardware and OCONUS installation services in Japan, with responses due by September 1, 2026.
This is not a solicitation but a market research vehicle; previous RFIs were posted to GSA eBuy and NASA SEWP. NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka seeks qualified sources able to deliver the complete solution—both brand-name hardware and complex installation services—as an open-market requirement.
The requirement centers on installation at a remote island location in Japan. The hardware scope includes two GTR Repeaters, three GTR Basestations, antennas, miscellaneous installation hardware, and implementation/system optimization services. The portable radio component comprises 124 APX6000 VHF units with associated software enhancements (AES encryption, ASTRO digital CAI operation, conventional operation, submersible capability), baseline release software, five-year essential accidental damage coverage, programming-over-P25 (OTAP) capability, and single-unit packing. The full kit also specifies 50 Impres 2 Li-Ion batteries, 50 helical whip GPS antennas, 144 desktop chargers, and device programming services for all 124 radios.
The statement of work describes a two-phase logistics workflow: Phase 1 delivery to Naval Air Facility Atsugi, followed by Phase 2 on-site installation on the remote island, with potential two- to three-month interim waiting period. Contractor personnel must be eligible for SOFA status and SPOT processing. The Government provides final transportation to the site and lodging/meals on-site; contractor covers travel and per diem to mainland Japan.
NAICS 334220; PSC 5820.
