About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a market survey to procure a Portable Coordinate Measuring System with an associated Reverse Engineering and Quality Assurance Kit for its Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The procurement involves 21 line items, including advanced dimensional inspection systems like the XM-5000 Coordinate Measuring System and IM-8030 Instant Measurement System. Currently, the FAA believes Keyence Corporation of America is the only available source for these specialized technical equipment items. Interested vendors must demonstrate full capability to provide the required items and be licensed through the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The market survey responses are due by June 27, 2025, and the FAA will use these submissions to determine if a competitive procurement environment exists.
No specific set-aside designation has been applied to this opportunity. The total procurement includes comprehensive systems and accessories with specific requirements for delivery within 21 days after receipt (ARO) to the FAA facility. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement encompasses sophisticated measurement and engineering equipment with associated software, wireless modules, batteries, calibration tools, and support documentation. The contract will require the successful vendor to provide installation guidance, initial training, technical support, and comprehensive system documentation. If no competitive responses are received confirming alternative sources, the FAA intends to pursue a single-source procurement with Keyence Corporation of America using agency-specific acquisition procedures outlined in their Acquisition Management Systems (AMS).
