About this opportunity
The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii, under the Department of the Navy, is conducting market research to identify alternative suppliers for a low voltage ship-to-shore cam-style receptacle and connector system. The government seeks products equivalent to the Duraline E1022 22 Series Ball Nose connectors currently in use. Required specifications include a 600V voltage rating with 690A continuous current capacity, single pole cam-type design with positive latching and ball nose configuration, quick connect/disconnect capability, and an insulated housing with external release mechanism operable with gloved hands. The system must meet environmental sealing standards suitable for marine applications with NEMA 4 or equivalent protection, support 250kcmil through 750kcmil cable sizes, and comply with UL 1691 and UL 486A/B listings with color-coded housings for phase identification. Responses to this pre-solicitation notice are due by April 9, 2026, with the market research intended to determine whether competitive alternatives exist before potential sole-source procurement.
This pre-solicitation notice involves no set-aside designations and specifically references Duraline as the incumbent supplier of the baseline product. The notice is purely for market research purposes and does not constitute a commitment to award a contract or release specific budget information or quantity requirements. No award value or procurement timeline is provided in this pre-solicitation phase. Interested firms should respond by the April 9, 2026 deadline to provide technical data demonstrating their products' capability to meet the specified requirements for ship-to-shore power transfer applications in naval caisson and waterfront environments.
