About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential vendors capable of providing specialized far-infrared optical filters for quantum sensor development. This sources sought notice seeks responses from all responsible sources, including large and small businesses, to determine U.S. manufacturing capabilities for a complex filter set. The procurement involves four primary line items: 25 mm and 90 mm band filter sets, a polarizer grid, and a filter set for operation below 650 GHz, with specific technical requirements including multi-layer metal mesh construction and high transmission characteristics. Interested companies must submit electronic capability statements of four pages or less to Lisa Stevens at lisa.stevens@nist.gov by May 19, 2025. Respondents are required to provide detailed information including company name, manufacturing location, product specifications, lead times, and country of origin.
