About this opportunity
This solicitation has been canceled as of July 1, 2026. The Department of the Army, through Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal, had sought an Electrical Control Box (NSN 2540-01-609-3483, part number 57K6555) for the M1 Abrams tank family of vehicles under a total small business set-aside, firm-fixed-price contract with a 100% option. The final bid due date, before cancellation, was July 1, 2026.
The procurement required a production quantity of 14 units with a 14-unit unexercised option quantity, plus pricing for a First Article Test Report. Place of performance was Anniston, Alabama. The solicitation was designated NAICS 335999, All Other Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 600 employees.
Bidders were required to obtain access to a Technical Data Package (distribution code "D") restricted to Department of Defense and U.S. DoD contractors prior to bid submission or face rejection. All contractor personnel handling controlled unclassified information were subject to mandatory DoD CUI training and strict physical and electronic protection protocols. Bidders needed current DD Form 2345 certification and were required to complete Standard Form 33, provide certifications and representations, and submit pricing for three contract line items. The Government evaluated bids without discussions based on lowest total price.
The solicitation underwent seven substantive amendments between January and May 2026, extending the bid deadline from an initial January 14, 2026 to June 1, and finally to July 1, 2026. Amendment 0006, effective May 12, 2026, added FAR clause 52.222-90 (DEI Discrimination). Questions were due December 29, 2025, directed to Lyndsey M. Pena or Stanley R. Biernacki. Bid opening was conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams, with a minimum 90-calendar-day bid acceptance period required.
