About this opportunity

The Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS) has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract award to the University of Utah for providing oversight of anesthesia services at the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC). This notice, posted on February 21, 2025, announces the intent to award a 12-month contract for comprehensive anesthesia program management. The contract will be awarded under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-3(a)(2)(i) for solicitation from a single source. Contractors must maintain board-certified/eligible anesthesiologists and comply with CMS, Indian Health Service (IHS), HIPAA, and New Mexico state regulations. The contract requires professional liability insurance coverage of $583,000 per occurrence for telehealth services and $1,000,000 per occurrence for onsite care. Potential contractors have until 12:00 PM Mountain Standard Time on March 6, 2025, to submit a response demonstrating why competition would be advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received by the deadline, the contract will be issued to the University of Utah without further notice. The notice emphasizes that this is not a competitive solicitation, and any responses will be considered solely for potential future competitive procurement considerations.
