About this opportunity
The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), a civilian agency within the Department of Energy, has issued a Sole Source Notice of Intent to acquire a Meteorological Subscription service from the incumbent vendor DTN. WAPA requires these real-time meteorological monitoring, forecasting, and data services to support its power marketing and operations.
The purpose of this Notice is to inform the public of WAPA's intent to award a sole-source, simplified acquisition contract to DTN for the required meteorological services. The resulting contract will be conducted under FAR Parts 12 and 13. Responsible sources may submit capability statements by the July 31, 2024 due date to be considered, though the government has the sole discretion to determine whether to compete the requirement. Key requirements include daily weather briefings, continuous monitoring, long-range outlooks, data integration, and custom mapping and alert features. The contract will be a 12-month firm-fixed-price subscription from November 2024 to October 2025. This is a total small business set-aside procurement.
