About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 22, specifically the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS), issued this sole source justification for a six-month bridge contract to ensure continuity of critical teleradiology interpretation services for Veterans. The contract requires board-certified Radiologists to provide 24/7 teleradiology services across multiple imaging modalities including General Radiologic Procedures, CT/CTA Scans, MRI/MRA, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound, with the services valued at $896,312.50 and scheduled to run from December 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026. VetMed Group LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, was selected as the sole source provider due to its extensive experience with VA teleradiology services, current employment of 50 VA-credentialed radiologists, and demonstrated capacity to process approximately 1,900 studies daily using VA-compliant technology. The justification for sole sourcing was based on market research revealing a nationwide shortage of radiologists and limited vendor capacity in rural regions, making VetMed Group's existing infrastructure and expertise essential for maintaining uninterrupted healthcare services while a long-term contract is procured and expected to be awarded by June 1, 2026. The contract was awarded as a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) arrangement under FAR 12 simplified acquisition procedures, with the notice syndicated on SAM.gov post-award to maintain transparency and potentially attract additional vendors for future opportunities.
