About this opportunity
The National Resources Conservation Service seeks to award a contract to maintain 210 Soil Climate Analysis Network stations across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Maintenance services are required to replace sensors, equipment and components annually at 109 identified station locations from August 2022 through December 2023. Quotes are due by August 11, 2022 with award expected by August 31, 2022. Evaluation will be based on technical experience, past performance, and price.
This requirement has been set aside for small businesses. Maintenance must be performed at the 109 locations listed to collect soil moisture, temperature and other climatic data for agricultural use. The single award firm order contract has a base period from August 31, 2022 through December 31, 2023. Place of performance will be at the scattered sites across the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Active SAM registration is also required.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) National Water and Climate Center (NWCC) operates and maintains the Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) stations across the US, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, with a focus on U.S. agricultural areas. Currently, there are 210 SCAN stations that provide soil and climatic data in near real-time that are used for agricultural practices and climate analysis. In addition to the SCAN stations, the agency is currently involved with assisting tribes in the installation of Tribal SCAN (TSCAN) stations on lands across the US, focused on agricultural lands situated on Tribal lands in the U.S.
Maintenace Services are needed for the Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) Stations.
The estimated period of performance is as follows: Base Year: 31 August 2022 – 31 December 2023
