About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically Veterans Integrated Service Network 9, is conducting market research for a Software License and Support procurement. The agency seeks vendors capable of providing a patient lab ordering and labeling system for multiple VA facilities in Tennessee and Kentucky, with a focus on supporting Positive Patient Identification (PII) for laboratory specimen collection. The system must integrate with existing Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) and Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), enabling accurate specimen tracking and labeling. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 541519 (Other Computer Related Services) and PSC code DB10, with no specific small business set-aside designated. The contract will have a base year with four optional extension years and a 120-calendar day initial performance period from the award date. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the procurement includes software licensing, training, equipment, and 24/7 phone support across multiple VA clinics and facilities. Vendors are encouraged to indicate their certification status, such as SDVOSB, VOSB, Hub zone, 8(a), or women-owned business.
