About this opportunity
NASA Shared Services Center seeks snow and ice removal services for the Katherine Johnson Independent Verification and Validation Facility in Fairmont, West Virginia, with quotes due August 20, 2026, by 7:00 a.m. Central Time. The procurement is set aside for small business and carries a firm fixed-price award to the lowest-price technically acceptable offeror.
Place of performance is 100 University Drive, Fairmont, WV 26554, covering a 109,600-square-foot service area encompassing roadways, parking areas, sidewalks, entrances, loading dock, and both tiers of the Priority 2 parking lot. The service period runs November 2026 through April 2027. Plowing commences upon 1 inch of snow accumulation or prior to forecasted ice events. Priority 1 areas (yellow-marked emergency access routes, main building entrances, loading dock) and Priority 2 areas (blue-marked secondary parking lot) must be cleared and treated prior to 7:00 a.m. and maintained until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding US federal holidays. During extreme weather events (1 foot or more accumulation within 24 hours), Priority 1 areas take precedence. The contractor supplies all salt and de-icing chemicals, staged off-site for mobilization. All work is subject to Contracting Officer's Representative inspection; substandard work is redone at contractor expense. Contractor personnel will not access export-controlled NASA data. Safety compliance required under NASA Policy NPD8700.1 and NPR8715.1B plus Federal, state, and local regulations, with incident reporting per OSHA and NPR8621.1 standards. Service Contract Labor Standards do not apply. Quotes must remain valid 30 days, include CAGE/UEI code, FOB destination, leadtime for delivery, and two points of contact. Offerors must reference tracking number 80NSSC26941046Q in email subject lines. Questions are due August 19 by 7:00 a.m. Central Time. NAICS code is 561730; PSC code is S208.
