About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health, through the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Early Translation Branch, seeks to procure a small molecule library containing 52 specific compounds. The library will increase diversity for the agency's chemical collections to support more effective structure-activity relationship expansion by medicinal chemists. Quotes are requested for the listed compounds in quantities ranging from 1 to 5 milligrams each, manufactured by the same vendor, with validated biological activity and purity above 95%. Proposals will be evaluated based on technical capability to meet requirements, past performance providing similar items, and price. Quotes are due by September 8, 2022.

The solicitation is set aside for total small businesses. The primary NAICS code is 541711 and PSC code is R425. The library must be delivered within six months of award to the specified destination. Vendors must be able to provide a minimum of 10 of the listed compounds to be considered for award. The total value is estimated between $50,000-$150,000. Compounds will be added to the National Institutes of Health location in Bethesda, Maryland to support pre-clinical screening and research efforts.

Update #2 · Latest ·

The Early Translation Branch (ETB) within the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires a library of specific compounds. The addition of these compounds would increase the diversity of NCATS’ chemical libraries and allow a more thorough and effective SAR expansion by the medicinal chemist.

See attachments for the full combined synopsis/solicitation and complete list of compounds, quantities, salient characteristics, CAS numbers, and SMILES.

Vendors may submit a quote for as many of the listed compounds as they are able to provide that meet all salient characteristics.

All quoted compounds must be manufactured by the same manufacturer. However, the vendor may work with a subcontractor to complete the chemical synthesis as long as all salient characteristics are met and the compounds have the requisite purity.

Amendment 1: Allowing quotes for less than the full list of compounds and requiring compounds be domestic end products. An updated combined synopsis / solicitation and list of compounds are attached.
