The Department of the Interior's National Park Service has issued a Special Notice for the Sierra/Mojave Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC), a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) construction services contract. The contract will cover multiple national parks and monuments within the Pacific West Region, including Yosemite, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, and eight other locations across California and Nevada. This total small business set-aside opportunity is valued at $45 million and is designed to support construction, maintenance, and repair services across these diverse national park sites. The contract will be awarded to multiple small businesses capable of performing a comprehensive range of construction and maintenance projects. The opportunity is specifically targeted at small businesses that can handle complex facilities work in challenging and geographically dispersed national park environments.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must meet specific eligibility requirements, including being classified as a small business and demonstrating the capability to self-perform at least 15% of contracted work. The primary objective is to streamline construction contracting, reduce procurement lead times, and improve operational efficiency across National Park Service facilities. The solicitation aims to award a minimum of six contracts, with a focus on promoting competition among small businesses while meeting diverse maintenance and construction needs. Key requirements include the ability to perform new construction, facility repairs, utility work, site improvements, building systems upgrades, and infrastructure renovations. Contractors will have opportunities to work as prime contractors or subcontractors, with an emphasis on leveraging local small business expertise. The contract is set to be posted on March 20, 2025, with proposals due by March 28, 2025, under the NAICS category of Commercial and Institutional Building Construction.
