About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Medical Command is seeking standardized patients to support the Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examiner (SAMFE) course at various Military Treatment Facilities in both European Command (EUCOM) and Indo-Pacific Command (IPACOM). The standardized patients will realistically portray sexual assault patients for medical training purposes, requiring detailed anatomical knowledge, emotional portrayal capabilities, and the ability to provide feedback to students. Key qualifications include comfort with body exposure, maintenance of appropriate hygiene, and the ability to consistently recreate specific patient scenarios while adapting to various training requirements. The contract emphasizes the critical importance of realism in training, with scenarios potentially requiring specific age, skin tone, and gender characteristics to maintain authenticity. The anticipated solicitation release date is August 19, 2025, with responses due shortly thereafter, and the full Request for Quotation will be posted to SAM.gov.

This opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 611710 (Educational Support Services). The contract structure includes one base year plus four option years, with a performance period beginning October 1, 2025, and extending through September 30, 2030. The training program requires eight iterations annually, with two standardized patients per iteration performing 15 encounters each at military facilities across two major geographic commands. No incumbent contractors or specific award values are identified in the pre-solicitation notice. The comprehensive nature of the training requirements and multi-year contract structure suggests this is a substantial opportunity for qualified small businesses specializing in educational support services within the medical training sector.
