About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Air Warfare Center intends to procure 200 Serpent Life Preserver Units (Part Number S-9510-1) as a sole-source acquisition from Switlik Parachute Company under FAR 6.302-1, with a capability-statement response deadline of June 11, 2026.

Switlik, a small business and original equipment manufacturer (CAGE Code 78673), is the sole known source capable of meeting the Government's technical and performance requirements for this proprietary item. The LPUs will support qualification and testing activities for the Survival Vest System Improvement (SVSI) program and will be procured as a simplified acquisition.

The Government will consider capability statements received by the June 11 deadline to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement instead; however, the decision to compete or sole-source remains solely within Government discretion. Interested parties should submit written responses by email to Ms. Amy Wescott or Mr. Greg Tollefsen. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Switlik Parachute Company directly. No phone inquiries will be entertained.
