About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Redstone Arsenal is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive security information destruction and document shredding services at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The primary services include quarterly offsite paper shredding using 96-gallon bins, a one-time box purge of 30 standard banker boxes, and annual hard drive collection and destruction services for approximately 150 drives per year. The vendor must obtain and maintain NAID AAA Certification, which requires pre-employment and random criminal background checks and drug screening for all employees, maintain $2,000,000 in general liability insurance, and comply with stringent security protocols including secure facility operations with monitored camera systems and locked transport vehicles. Critical evaluation criteria include the vendor's ability to perform shredding with commercial-grade equipment producing particle sizes no larger than 5/8-inch, ensure permanent and irreversible data destruction on hard drives using equipment equivalent to the Obig-ShredPax model AZ-7V, and complete material destruction within three business days for routine pickups or 15 business days for large purges. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on March 17, 2026, with a response deadline of March 23, 2026, and interested vendors should contact contracting officer Lisa S. Armes or contract specialist LaToya T. Whitsett for submission details.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and represents a one-year base contract with four optional renewal years, with no current incumbent identified in the materials provided. The contract requires specific performance metrics including quarterly bin swaps with 36 bins, shredding capacity of 8 tons per hour, and barcoding and tracking of all hard drives for destruction verification. While no explicit budget ceiling or award value is stated in the pre-solicitation materials, the scope of services encompasses recurring quarterly paper shredding operations, annual hard drive destruction for 150 units, and associated certificates of destruction and pickup receipts for all services. The procurement is classified under NAICS Code 561990 (All Other Support Services) and PSC Category R616 (Support – Administrative: Physical Records Management Services), indicating this is a specialized support services contract requiring demonstrated expertise in secure information destruction and compliance with national industry standards.
