About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is conducting market research for a MAKO SCBA Breathing Air Compressor (Model BAM07H) to be installed at Keesler Air Force Base. This sources sought announcement aims to identify potential suppliers capable of providing a highly specialized air compressor with specific technical requirements, including the ability to produce 6000 psi and 20.7 CFMs with a 3-phase electrical drive. Interested parties must submit their responses via email to Markos Mendoza and Kimberley Alvarez by 11:00 AM CST on June 4, 2025, including their company details such as CAGE code, company size status, and ownership. Respondents are required to provide a written statement confirming their ability to meet all criteria outlined in the Salient Characteristics document, along with product literature and any applicable Federal Supply Schedule contract information. The evaluation will focus on companies' capabilities to provide a compressor that meets the detailed technical specifications, including air quality standards, electrical requirements, and operational features.

The sources sought notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the documentation. While no specific award value is provided, the compressor requires a comprehensive package including a 15 hp electric motor, sound-attenuating enclosure, and integrated monitoring systems. The procurement includes a mandatory training program for four personnel and requires two copies of the operating manual. The compressor must comply with OSHA 1910.134 and NFPA 1989 standards and comes with a 5-year or 1,000-hour standard warranty. The unit's specifications indicate approximate dimensions of 66" in height, 33" in width, and 42" in depth, with the ability to integrate with an existing MAKO Bottle Fill Unit. Potential suppliers should note that this is a market research exercise and does not guarantee a future solicitation, and all response costs will be at the respondent's expense.
