About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is conducting market research for a SATCOM Modernization project at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. The agency seeks a Deployable Dual-Hub SATCOM Terminal to replace the existing Ground Multi-Band Terminal and Quad-band Large Aperture Antenna system. The required system must be a portable, interoperable satellite communications terminal capable of operating across four SHF bands (C, X, Ku, Ka) on both commercial and military satellites. Interested companies must submit responses by 10:00 PM CST on May 14, 2025, via email to Samantha Conger and Kimberley Alvarez. Respondents are required to provide their company name, address, phone number, point of contact, CAGE code, company size status, ownership information, and a written statement demonstrating their capability to meet the specified requirements.

This is a sources sought announcement, and there is currently no set-aside designation for the contract. The project requires a dual-hub configuration using 1.8-to-2.4 meter antennas with a modular feed boom design for multi-band switching. The system must be compact, deployable, and include ruggedized transit cases that can be deployed by two personnel. Additional requirements include remote operation via laptop or tablet interface and a comprehensive train-the-trainer program for 12 instructors and maintenance staff. While no specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the technical complexity and specialized nature of the SATCOM terminal suggest this will be a significant procurement. No incumbent contractors are mentioned, and the notice emphasizes that this is purely a market research effort with no guarantee of future solicitation.
