About this opportunity

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is conducting market research to identify potential vendors capable of providing comprehensive medication error reporting and analytics services. Specifically, the agency seeks a contractor to deliver nationwide medication error reports related to FDA-regulated drug products, along with access to a sophisticated analytics platform supporting 2-10 concurrent FDA users. The Request for Information (RFI) aims to gather market intelligence about potential service providers who can offer professional consulting, data analysis, technical support, and surveillance definition maintenance for medication error prevention. Responses are due by January 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM ET, with submissions to be emailed to Brian Wodzisz and include the RFI number FDA-RFI-126495 in the subject line. Respondents are limited to a 15-page submission and are encouraged to demonstrate capabilities within the professional, scientific, and technical services sector (NAICS 541990).

The pre-solicitation notice does not specify a specific set-aside designation, though small businesses are explicitly encouraged to participate. The size standard for the NAICS category is set at $19.5 million, providing broad opportunity for potential contractors. Key technical requirements include the ability to provide biennial summary reports, run complex data queries, generate customized reports, and offer 24/48-hour emergency support. The contract will require the selected vendor to conduct at least two annual training sessions with the option for up to five additional ad hoc sessions, and provide robust technical support during standard business hours. While no specific award value or budget range is currently disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the required services suggests a potentially significant contract opportunity for qualified vendors with expertise in medication error reporting, data analytics, and healthcare technical services.
