About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health seeks a complete, field-ready rugged mobile data acquisition system for coal mine roof safety research, with quotations due September 22, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET and questions due September 18 at 2:00 PM ET.

Place of performance is West Mifflin, Pennsylvania (NIOSH Pittsburgh Mining Research Division, 626 Cochran Mill Road). The system must support minimum 12 simultaneous data acquisition channels expandable to 24, with 16-bit resolution minimum, 200 kHz sample rate or 80 kHz bandwidth per channel with 100 dB anti-aliasing filters, and synchronized acquisition across all channels. Physical specifications require DC power operation with no cooling fan, footprint under 10 by 12 inches, height under 12 inches, weight under 20 pounds, IP67 ingress protection, operation from 0°F to 120°F, and ability to withstand 5g RMS vibration and 50g peak shock per MIL-STD-810. The system must provide onboard data storage, standalone operation without wired PC connection, wireless control and monitoring via tablet or mobile phone, synchronized camera integration, CAN bus capability built-in or via add-on module, and compatibility with Siemens Simcenter Testlab software. Signal conditioning must accommodate IEPE accelerometers, strain gauges, and other excitation-requiring transducers. Equipment must be new (not used, refurbished, or remanufactured). If the quoter is not the manufacturer, authorization as a reseller or distributor with available manufacturer technical support is required. Delivery is required within six months of award. Award will be made to the responsible quoter submitting the lowest-priced technically acceptable quotation. Technical acceptability, delivery capability, and warranty and technical support capability are each evaluated on an Acceptable/Unacceptable basis. If the quotation includes planned or potential AI use, an AI Compliance and Risk Management Plan will be evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis. NAICS 334515, PSC 6625, unrestricted commercial acquisition.
