About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Drum is seeking to procure an estimated 14,000 net tons of road salt for winter operations through this solicitation opportunity. The procurement requires white irregular granular road salt meeting specific size requirements, with no more than 2% of material greater than 0.5 millimeters and no more than 2% less than 0.5 millimeters, delivered in bulk via self-unloading tractor trailers with mandatory enclosure or tarping. The government will order salt in 2,000 net ton increments on an as-needed basis throughout the ordering period from November 1, 2025, through October 31, 2026. Contractors must respond to delivery requests within 48 hours and complete delivery within 10 business days of order placement. The solicitation was posted on August 5, 2025, with proposals due by August 20, 2025, though no evaluation criteria are specified in the available notice.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designation and no incumbent contractors are identified in the solicitation materials. While no specific award value or budget range is provided, the substantial quantity of 14,000 net tons represents a significant procurement for winter road maintenance operations. Deliveries must be made to Fort Drum, New York, specifically to the 4000 Yard Building T-4021 on 1st West Street, with delivery windows restricted to Monday through Friday between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, excluding federal holidays. The contract structure allows for flexible ordering throughout the winter season based on operational needs, with loads containing lumps and clumps subject to rejection.
