About this opportunity
The Department of State, US Embassy Kathmandu, seeks a qualified vendor to design, manage, and implement a comprehensive tourism technology initiative, with quotations due June 8, 2026 at 17:00 local time. This is an unrestricted procurement with no set-aside applied.
Place of performance is Nepal. The program builds on outcomes from the Ascent Summit 2026 project and aims to advance commercial collaboration between U.S. and Nepali technology companies in the tourism sector. The vendor must deliver six major components: program continuity and design, U.S. technology deployment through live or simulated demonstrations (including unmanned aerial vehicles, terrain mapping, environmental monitoring, and disaster preparedness capabilities in high-altitude regions), commercial pathways to facilitate B2B engagements and pilot projects, stakeholder engagement with government coordination, program management with a dedicated project manager, and sponsorship coordination to secure private sector participation.
The implementation timeline runs July 15 through January 2027, with mobilization and planning in mid-July, stakeholder engagement and program preparation in August–September, implementation and demonstrations in October–November, and pilot follow-up with reporting through January. The contract period is one year with no options. Pricing is firm fixed-price in Nepalese Rupees with Value Added Tax shown as a separate line item. Award will be made to the lowest priced, acceptable, responsible offeror based on compliance with RFQ terms and technical information requirements. A pre-quotation conference is scheduled for June 22, 2026. Quotations must be submitted electronically to KTMContracts@state.gov and include SF-1449, Section 1 Pricing, Section 5 Representations and Certifications, additional Section 3 information, and proof of SAM registration. The NAICS code is 5419, Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services; PSC is R408, Support–Professional: Program Management/Support.
