About this opportunity

The Department of Labor Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management is gathering information through a Request for Information and Sources Sought Notice on webscraped apparel product datasets to be delivered three times per month, with responses due by 12:00 PM EST on July 31, 2026.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics requires structured datasets encompassing all men's, women's, and children's apparel, footwear, jewelry, and watches available for sale in the United States from six major retailers: Macy's, Kohl's, Nordstrom, Dillard's, JCPenney, and Amazon. Each dataset must include SKU/product ID, category information, regular and offer prices, product descriptions with detailed specifications, shipping fees, sales rankings, and third-party seller indicators in standard electronic formats (CSV, SAS, txt) delivered via secure file transfer protocol (SFTP). Delivery begins October 2026 for one year.

Responses must not exceed 30 pages, submitted in Microsoft Word format with Times New Roman 11- or 12-point font and 1-inch margins via email to Daniel Garza (garza.daniel@dol.gov). Submissions must include a cover letter with company information, responses to ten questionnaire items addressing company capabilities and data collection methodology, and a capabilities package with pricing information provided as a rough order of magnitude for planning purposes only. Questions must be submitted by 12:00 PM EST on July 24, 2026. Vendors whose responses are determined "Relevant" may be invited to demonstrate their approach to a panel of Subject Matter Experts. This RFI is for information gathering and market research only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award a contract. The Government reserves the right to set aside the requirement for small businesses or conduct full and open competition, with potential for multiple awards.
