About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking sources for maintenance services for Robotic Dogs located at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. The Request for Information (RFI) focuses on identifying contractors capable of providing comprehensive maintenance for these specialized robotic systems, including software updates, full hardware coverage, and priority maintenance. The maintenance requirements include service every 4,000 walk hours, with the exclusion of third-party devices like payload sensors which are covered under manufacturer warranties. After conducting market research, the government has determined that Ghost Robotics is currently the sole source capable of providing the required maintenance package, specifically the SKU MC-VS60Y01. The RFI is being issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines, with a response deadline of June 10, 2025, and potential offerors should note that funds are not currently available and the government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation at any time.
The solicitation is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, aligning with the current single-source identification of Ghost Robotics, which is a small business. The maintenance package is described as an exclusive licensing agreement not available through resellers, which limits potential competition. While no specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the document, the procurement is categorized under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, and PSC code J025 for Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Vehicular Equipment Components. The maintenance services are specific to the Robotic Dogs at Tyndall AFB, located at zip code 32403, and will cover software updates, full hardware coverage, and priority maintenance. Potential contractors should be aware that no award will be made until funds become available, and the government will not reimburse offerors for any costs associated with the proposal process.

Currently, the Government has determined that only one source is capable of providing the maintenance of Robotic Dogs.
