About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is seeking sources for the procurement, delivery, and installation of dormitory furniture at Joint Base San Antonio Fort Sam Houston (JBSA FSH) Buildings 1475 and 1479. The project requires bunkable bed frames, lift deck beds, bunk clamp kits, and wardrobes that meet specific dimensional and material specifications, including welded steel construction with powder-coated khaki finish for beds and natural oak finish for wardrobes. Contractors must provide all labor, transportation, tools, equipment, and project management necessary to deliver and install the furniture while also removing and disposing of existing furnishings in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The evaluation will be conducted under a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) criterion with a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) award structure. The deadline for responses to this Request for Information (RFI) is May 7, 2026 at 9:00 A.M. CST, with inquiries directed to CS Jermayne Gordon or CO Laura Herring.
This opportunity is set aside for Total Small Business, utilizing NAICS code 337126 (Household Furniture Manufacturing) with a 950-employee business size standard. The project encompasses substantial quantities: 786 lift beds, 357 bunkable beds, 438 wardrobes, and 357 stacking kits, with Building 1475 requiring 345 lift beds, 155 bunkable beds, 199 wardrobes, and 155 stacking kits, while Building 1479 requires 441 lift beds, 202 bunkable beds, 239 wardrobes, and 202 stacking kits. Additionally, contractors must remove 499 existing captain beds and relocate 547 lift beds and 345 wardrobes to warehouse storage at Building 4190. All installation work must be completed Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with each dormitory room furnished within a single workday to minimize disruption to occupied facilities. The government is currently conducting this voluntary market survey to gather information on small business capability, including socio-economic designations such as 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, and SDB status, manufacturing capabilities, and lead times.
