About this opportunity
The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is seeking qualified contractors to provide towing, storage, maintenance, and disposal services for seized and forfeited vehicles across multiple judicial districts in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the Virgin Islands. This is a Request for Information (RFI) announcement intended to identify potential qualified sources before a formal solicitation is posted on SAM.gov at the end of FY26 Q2. Key requirements include establishing six contractor-furnished storage facilities, with each facility located within 60 road miles of designated district offices in Tampa, Miami, Atlanta, Raleigh, Charlotte, and St. Thomas. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to provide the required services and complete a pricing schedule with estimated rates for USMS market research purposes. The RFI questionnaire requires detailed information regarding business classification, storage capabilities (indoor and outdoor), vehicle maintenance and record-keeping capabilities, licensing, auctioneer services, and compliance with NADA/Black Book pricing guidelines. The due date for RFI responses is January 30, 2026, with the formal solicitation expected to follow in the second quarter of FY26.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation and involves a base contract year with four one-year option periods, creating a potential five-year engagement. The estimated total contract value is approximately $490,000 over the five-year period, with the base year estimated at $82,750 and option years ranging from $85,550 to $94,400. The pricing schedule encompasses multiple service line items including standard and large vehicle towing, specialty towing, monthly vehicle maintenance across different storage categories, personal property transport, and various disposal methods including live auctions, online auctions, sealed bids, and vehicle destruction. No current contractor or incumbent is identified in this RFI announcement. The contract requires the contractor to handle multiple vehicle types, maintain detailed records, prepare vehicles for sale, conduct auctions, and comply with strict federal regulations and security requirements for the handling of government asset forfeiture inventory.
